***

This is the first episode of ENDPAIN’s first audio diary. The diary format allows a person to share their own story in a way that feels natural to them, offering an intimate and personal understanding of their experience with whatever it is they are moving through. Each diarist is given a microphone and records reflective narrations as well as real-time events.

The diarist this month is Ruby Frankel. When she was 18, she was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, a diagnosis that she felt helped her contextualize much of the behavior and thought patterns she had been experiencing her whole life. Personality disorders are, by and large, misunderstood by the mainstream. Hopefully, this diary helps clarify the nature of Borderline, as well as explore what self-care means for someone with BPD.

In Part One, we meet Ruby and we start to become familiar with BPD.
